How did we get to December 2021? To think of everything that has happened in one year is incredibly challenging. As I reflect back on this year I feel as if I am exuberating so much gratitude! This was the year of change for me… I started my business and navigated all the curves in the road, I graduated college and for the first time in my life I am no longer a student, I got my first “big girl” job, my fiancé started boot camp and I had to learn to live by myself for the first time in my life! These are only a few things on my list and with all these come so many exciting memories but also challenging times that have helped shape me into the person I am today.
Going into this year I had no goals for my photography business other than to continue to do what I had a passion for and to find my niche! In the beginning (January and February) of 2021, I had zero bookings and felt extremely discouraged, I didn’t know the first thing about running a business or even how to work my camera in manual mode. In February I attended my first styled shoot which couldn’t have been a bigger mindset change. Fast forward to the present day I just had my biggest month in November and was booked out every Saturday and Sunday leading up to Thanksgiving! If you had asked me back in January if I would have this much success I would have told you absolutely not. Running a business has given me so much purpose in my life, I have proven to myself that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought I was. I have met so many amazing people, and I get to make people feel good about themselves just by doing something that I love to do!
Although all these things may seem so minimal to others this has been an absolute dream to me and I am so thankful that I have been given this path to be able to peruse my passions! This year I extremely surpassed my income goal and cannot wait to see what 2022 has to bring! I plan to continue to search for these passions in the little things that business provides to me as well as strive to become a better business owner!
As always thank you so much for the support from all of my clients I genuinely would not be where I am today without you all and I am so grateful for each and every one of you! Here’s to 2022, and creating some fucking awesome working with you all! I cannot wait to see your visions come true!
