So you have offically made it to the debate of “when should I have my wedding?” This is an extremely normal debate to have because lets be real you probably have people telling you the best time and worst time to get married. I am going to be completely real with you, no matter when you have your wedding it is going to be stunning and you will have the time of your life but it is also important to just be aware of the different pro’s and con’s that come with each season. Its good to keep these in the back of your mind when debating your date for your date. But also remember it is completely up to you and fiance when you want your wedding to be!
Getting Married in the Spring
When we think of weddings I feel like two seasons come to mind, Spring and fall! Spring is so wonderful for weddings for so many reasons: Summer is coming and you have that fresh smell in the ait, flowers are starting tobloom and everything is so green, you get the perfect pastel color array Spring is the perfect time for your bright colors! I best way I can describe it is that you are going to that Bridgerton garden party. Obviously there are so many more ways to go about it but spring brings you that excitement and freshness!
The Spring is the first prime wedding season of the year and all of your friends and family are going to be excited because it means that the people they care most for are tying the know, howeve with that come many ither wedding invitations they might have, so make sure to send out save the dates earlier than normal to make sure they can come.
Another benefit is that the weather is much cooler than if you had your wedding in the summer and you will still have some sunshine!
On the other hand, when you think of possible cons of a spring wedding you need to think about that with all of the luxurous , lushes blooms and greenery comes the rain, pollen and allergies.
If weather is one of your big stress points think about having an indoor ceremeony and reception or even considering nother date when the pollen is down and the weather is a bit more stable. You also cannot forget our good old friend day light savings which will affect the time the sun is setting for your portraits and could change what time you want to have your ceremony.
Dont get me wrong I absolutely love a good spring wedding!
Getting Married in the Summer
Think bright and vibrant colors! All the blush, oranges, navy, champagne, baby blues and peachy tones! It makes for such an incredibly dreamy day. These is what summer weddings are all about! I love the bold tones and themes that my couples go with, and who doesn’t love summer am I right?! Also if you want a destination elopement or wedding summer is the time for it!
When you are thinking about the guest who will be able to attend summer is one of those times of the year where people have more flexibility with being able to travel and take the time off from work. Summer weddings give you all of the light you could ever imagine and more because the sun sets so late which means in your a photo lover you will get all of the photos and I mean does it get any berrer than that (if your asking me definitely not lol). Due to how late the sunsets it gives couples more flexibility to be able to attend their cocktail hour if they wish to because we will shoot right after the ceremony and again at sunset so that you are able to get dreamiest golden hour portraits.
Lets talk temperature and weather though…it is going to be HOT and when I say hot I mean steamy. This might sounds obvious and I know my summer wedding couples are aware of this already and are told requently by friends and family, but just know we will be sweating so keep that in mind when choosing a venue, your dress and outfits for the bridal party.
Because it stays so bright in the summer shade will be our best friend without a doubt! You are going to want most of your photos to be taken outside so when you are on your venue tours or looking at photos of the property make sure there are shaded areas to keep some sun off of you but also to keep everyone cool during photos.
Getting Married in the Fall
Now to prime wedding season number two, and I may be a little partial that this is the best time to get married (My fiance and I get married in october). With the prime wedding season comes full calenders so if you are looking at the fall specially October make sure you book your vendors early because October is one of if not the busiest month for wedding vendors!
Fall is cool is rejuvenating for so many seasons the air starts to cool down, its pumpkin picking and apple cider season, and the leaves are changing! Lets be real you can also offically wear most of your wardobe again haha!
You get all the neutral tones burnt oranges, terracotta, creams, dusty roses, sage, and so many other warm inviting colors. Weather in the fall can definitely be a tricky one it can range from hot to warm to cool, but nothing will beat the cool crisp fall nights you get.
Just like the spring comes another time change but later fall, so just keep in mind what time the sunset is going to happen so that we can best plan out your photos.
Getting Married in the Winter
Its the most magical time of the year to get married! Bring on all of the jewel tones, bright whites, and reds. Winter weddings are literally like out of a movie, everyone is always filled with so much joy, its the time of the year to spend time with your family, get cozy with your lover in the cold and not to mention all the winter holidays are right around the corner! Could it get any better than that?
You can have a dream New Years Eve wedding filled with all the glits and glam and champagne that you could possibly think of, or you can have pine trees elegantly lined at your alter with small nods to the holidays spread throughout the venue, or you can go with a light whimsical feeling! There are so many possibilities!
Make sure you think about the sun sets because it is early so having an early ceremony or at least a first look is your best option to be able to get those natural light portraits. Also keep in mind that winter can be a super busy season for people because its the holidays and they are taking time off for work saving money to be able to provide the best holiday possible for their family and friends so just like any other season make sure you get those save the dates out in the mail early!
