How to Plan the Perfect Surprise Proposal in Hawaii
So you are telling me you are coming to Hawaii and are ready to take the next step in your relationship and plan the perfect proposal to start the next season of your lives together! Proposal sessions truly so magical because not only am I there to capture this huge milestone but I get the chance to work one-on-one with my clients leading up to the shoot! Close your eyes and picture it you decided to propose to your significant other and want to plan the perfect sunrise proposal in Hawaii. The sun rising behind you as the blue water washes up on the white sand beaches surrounded by palm trees while the breeze is blowing and joyful tears start to stream as you start this new journey! Sounds magical to me!
Tips for Planning Your Hawaii Proposal
Planning your proposal and be uncharted lands but let me be the first to say it no matter how or where you decide to propose it will be stunning and perfect in its way. Your proposal is a celebration of your love.
1. Finding a photographer
A photographer who is local to the area or who is travel-based is going to know romantic locations to fit your vibe! If they are not local as a photographer it is our job to find the most perfect location for you!
2. Planning it out
Planning the perfect proposal is much more then where you want to actually propose in Hawaii of course that does go into it and we will talk about that but there is may more then just the location. You need to start thinking about how you want to propose. Are you planning to have the photographer hide and make the whole shoot a surprise? Are you wanting to set up a couples shoot and propose in the beginning or middle of your session? This is all important information that is going to be vital to your photographer so that they don’t miss the most important part… the physical proposal!
3. Permitting
I know this can be a lot but do not worry I will help you out with this part. But to give you some details when planning for your proposal session Hawaii has started to requirements to protect their land which is requiring a permit to have professional photos at most locations. A permit is a piece of paper from the government informing that you have permission to take photos in that specific location. There are a few different types of permits a Wiki Permit and a Special Use Permit. Good news though, once we choose a location for your proposal it is my job as your photographer to apply or help you through this process for permits. It is crucial that we choose where you will be proposing first as some locations require different types of permits for this especially if you have a guest in attendance.
4. Talk to your Significant Other’s friends
Make sure that your significant other has an outfit, nails are done, hair looks good, etc. The best way to do this is to have his or her friends be in the know about what is about to go down, but make sure they do not make it apparent that you are about to pop the question! Their best friends can be the best way to keep it hidden and surprise them. But of course you can always keep it a true secret and get your significant other all ready without anyone else knowing.
5. Have FUN
You only get to do this once so take in all of the memories and every second of your session! You want a photographer who you can vibe with because when you look back on your photos you want to remember how much fun you had, the love you both share, and genuinely how amazing the day was as a whole.
