There are literally no other words to explain this session other than STUNNING!!! Proposal sessions are my absolute favorite because not only am I there to capture this huge milestone but I get the chance to work one-on-one with my clients leading up to the shoot! When Darin reached out inquiring about a proposal session I was SOO excited! Then he told me he was planning to propose in 4 days and was a little unsure of where he wanted to propose since he was not from the area. Immediately we got to planning so that Darin could propose to Bre in the most romantic perfect way possible! That is exactly what we did! Due to timing, we planning the shoot for sunrise and I’ll leave the discussion up to you if it was a good move… IT WAS!!!
The best advice I can give you when planning a proposal if you are traveling somewhere unfamiliar:
1. Find a photographer (bet you didn’t expect that to be my first tip lol): A photographer who is local to the area or who is a travel-based photographer is going to know romantic locations to fit your vibe! If they are not local as a photographer it is our job to find the most perfect location for you!
2.Plan it out: Are you planning to have the photographer hide and make the whole shoot a surprise? Are you wanting to set up a couples shoot and propose in the middle of your session? This is all important information that is going to be vital to your photographer so that they don’t miss the most important part… the physical proposal!
3. Talk to your SO’s friends: make sure that your SO has an outfit, nails are done, hair looks good, etc. The best way to do this is to have his or her friends be in the know about what is about to go down, but make sure they do not make it apparent that you are about to pop the question!
4. Have FUNNN: You only get to do this once so take in all of the memories and every second of your session! You want a photographer who you can vibe with because when you look back on your photos you want to remember how much fun you had, the love you both share, and genuinely how amazing the day was as a whole.
